cindy appears again in memories of cindy pt. 2, a passage of five plaintive cuts, concisely rendered with spineful percussion, succinct melodies and textures that evoke classic acid house and the new beat scene of the late 80s / early 90s. featured on pt 2. are several songs among the collection s non-club oriented tracks, transportzone mee- and forever afslutidijk, both meditative, atmospheric exercises interspersed among the ep s higher-bpm takes.

unknown mobile has quietly carved out a place for himself in the ever-evolving vancouver beat camp among contemporaries like mood hut, 1080p and project pablo. last years no motion 12 on a/s/l singles club was levi bruces dreamy introduction to most, and 2017 finds him stretching out a bit to further expand his palate of rhythms and textures across the five track mixed use ep for young adults. four sided pebble is a breezy bouncer woven with tickled keys, raw bass and a seamlessly organic live feel throughout. shoreline dub pulses in stuttered syncopation, but keeps its sights set on the dusk dusted horizon with delayed rhodes chords and ocean swells. country side is a total mind-melt, a pastoral graze through mazes of circuit board crop circles. the juggler churns a buttery 4/4 beat in an echo chamber, while proteus 216 dims the lights on its way out to an interstellar communications convention.

a software engineer at ableton by day, sieren�s love for uk influenced bass music and field recording and experimental soundscaping resulted in his apollo debut �static polymorphism� a masterly ep of spaced out street-rave soul.
now returning with the five track ascension ep, frick has tightened and toughened up his sound somewhat (see the caustic bass glower of �slinger�), augmenting his starry eyed wonder with a firmer percussive underpinning and more driving tempos. however still present are his preternatural grasp of emotion and atmosphere that marked him out as one to watch - perfectly underscored by the heartbreaking beauty of the title track.

having previously impressed for burek and five fold separately, berlin based italian duo autre and two thou teamed up for a split record on croatian fields & forests imprint. the record showcases a nice combination of eclectic rhythms, funky basses and spacey solos but despite its club signature and retro-futuristic vibe, solar society is still more of a cosmic porch burner rather than a dancefloor banger.

steffi occupies a unique space in the realm of contemporary electronic music. although she s a world renowned dj, steffi s musical interests reach far beyond the dancefloor, and it s her work as a producer that has established an impressive, hard-won legacy. soon after moving to berlin in 2007, steffi joined ostgut, becoming a resident at panorama bar and releasing on the club s label. to date she s released five albums, including two solo for ostgut ton, a co-production with virginia, another with analogue cops as third side and a collaboration as doms & deykers on martyn s 3024 label. her impressive discography features club classics like � yours feat. virginia� , carefully chosen remixes and appearances on labels including permanent vacation, underground quality and mixes for panorama bar and fabric. she owns and operates four labels: klakson (with dexter), dolly, dolly deluxe and dolly dubs. world of the waking state is steffi s third solo album for ostgut ton and a musical departure for both her and the label. it s also a serious statement of intent. over ten tracks she embarks on entirely new electronic terrain for her productions, marking industrial spaces with superlunary warmth while exercising a refined knowledge of polyphony and arrangement. subdued melodies interact with each other over implied harmonies and microcosmic drum patterns, luring us into a world that is introverted, bewildering and gratifying all at once.

french artist marc nguyen tan released two renowned albums in the early 2003 and 2006 under the artist name colder on trevor jackson�s seminal label output recordings. in november 2015, colder returned after a decade in hiatus with his third, highly acclaimed album many colours followed by two other lps titled the rain and goodbye in 2016. kasper bjorke is one of the most acclaimed and versatile producers and djs hailing from denmark. kasper has released five renowned solo albums over the past decade and remixed a wide range of artists, from rebolledo to weval. the two artists first started working together when kasper remixed colders single �your kind� - and colder in return remixed bjørke s track �marbled blood�. the idea to take their collaboration even further was formed when the two of them met in person during sonar festival in barcelona in 2015. in 2016 they then teamed up in the redbull studio in paris for a three day improvised recording session. the result is the black magic ep in stores on september 8th via throne of blood. a collection of five raw, driving post punk / new wave and techno influenced compositions, recorded via the studio ssl desk in paris, using hardware synths and drum machines played through some exotic vintage effects. colder recorded his mesmerizing vocals on the spot along with french drummer julien sabourin and saxophone player thibaut javoy. the ep will be followed by a stellar remix package from the golden filter (optimo music), mutado pintado (paranoid london) and french producer and dj pilooski.

charlie ahearn s 1983 film wild style holds a place in both music and cinematic history as one of the first examples of a hip-hop film. since its original release it has been widely praised for its hybrid approach as both a narrative musical and a documentary, and as a time capsule of sorts into the culture of hip-hop during its infancy in the 1980s. besides its classic depictions of mcing, turntablism, graffiti, and breakdancing, the film also featured now legendary figures of the genres in acting roles, such as grandmaster flash, fab five freddy, busy bee starski, and many more. wild style went on to garner an immense cult following, portions of the film itself would be sampled in records by artists like nas, beastie boys, mf doom, and more, and would even be exhibited by museums in chicago and boston as part of programs on the art of the 1980s.

indastria ep: this is the projection of a post-modern landscape on the axis of milan outskirts. five cyber techno trax contaminated by the speediest electro. east4 is a crew coming from the east side of milan, their mission is to propose a new concept of contaminated electro/techno stuff. their influences are coming from the past, like detroit sound and 80�s breakbeat, looking forward to the new vanguard.

since four triangles was founded to release material from previously unheralded artists working in the space between house, techno and vintage rave, it seems fitting that the label�s second release should come from an analogue explorer still making his way in the world.
you may have stumbled across jonas friedlich�s debut solo 12�, a thrillingly forthright collection of hardware workouts that slipped out, unheralded, on molten moods late last year. we think the five tracks showcased here offer an extended glimpse in friedlich�s distinctive musical vision.

cult duo rework are next up on my favorite robot with a five track ep that shows off their brilliantly inventive house and tech style. the production outfit of daniel varga, michael kuebler deal in left of centre and freaky house with a mischievous afterparty slant. they have been active for more than a decade now and have credits on great labels like visionquest, items & things, meant and the institution that is playhouse. the brilliantly sleazy �talk it off� opens things up with popping drums, playful lyrics and a steely sound that is designed for wonky basement parties. �valencia� goes deeper with warm drums and synths surging along next to an elastic groove that is propped up by energetic and incendiary chord stabs. it�s a subtle but high impact track that will raise the energy levels on any floor. �think about you� has vocals coated in echo and delay and trippy synths that are lively and off kilter. it makes for a track that is brilliantly loose and undulating and cannot fail to get under your skin. final track �attractive� heads in a much more techno direction with surging drums and hypnotic slithering synths that burrow deep into your brain and seep into the night. it is trance inducing for sure, and shows another side to this accomplished outfit. this is a versatile ep stuffed with killer cuts for many different moments in the night, and each is as standout as the next.

the super sounds of the seventies is a selection of seminal and sometimes wacky hits by artists such as stealers wheel, harry nilsson and joe tex. the movie also raised public interest in the dutch band george baker selection, due to the use of his �little green bag� in the film�s opening titles.

hot on the heels of their role on correspondant compilation five, mexican maestros zombies in miami return to jennifer cardini�s label once again this summer with two supreme space-aged head jams. following recent disco excursions on hippie dance and bordello a parigi, the duo retreat to the shadier, heavyweight side of their signature with �take control� and �last gun�. �take control� is a glacial creeper laced with frosty electroid synths and a smouldering hypnotic beat while �last gun� firms our focus on the looming lower tones, creating an ominous fog for the sunlight arpeggios to climb through evocatively. complete with on-point remixes from the lipsky brothers� simple symmetry and benedikt frey & nadia d�alo�s init project, this will have you taking control for a long time to come.

official re-issue of bermudian disco record! 1000 copies initial pressing. big tip! in 1981, bermudian band paradise recorded sizzlin hot, a flawless album of original material in the disco, boogie and aor style. producer, writer and pianist grant williams formed several bands before becoming the fourth member of paradise, alongside bassist wincy woolridge, drummer ronnie lopes and singer june ventzos whose voice commands the album. for five years, the group regularly performed in hotels before hitting the local z.b.m. studios to record their sole album. sizzlin hot is inspired by the sound of earth, wind & fire. the album delivers several blistering tracks that could have been huge club anthems if the record had been promoted outside of bermuda. since bermuda is a fairly remote island, its no wonder that paradise remains virtually unknown to this day. it is all the more reason why this album stands-out and has universal appeal though it was only ever intended as a local thing as grant williams says.

over the past three years melbournes albrecht la brooy have patiently cultivated their own space within australias prolific electronic music scene. deeply rooted in technos ambient influences, the duo improvise their compositions with an overarching approach that breaks away from techno s conventional presentation. recorded in one take from beginning to end, escape velocity sees albrecht la brooy take on the voyage aesthetic and principles to create a twenty five minute odyssey spanning four passages, to be played continuously across the 12inch medium. utilising both sparse, drifting ambient palettes and driving, machine-led rhythms, escape velocity is a pensively uplifting account of future travels through space and the ninth installment to the voyage catalogue. both sides of the vinyl are cut as continuous sides.

after the acclaimed release of nature boy s ruff disco volume one, frame of mind is back with another re-issue of a 25 year old record. gerd s very first house release called afterglow, produced under the alias of it s thinking together with two of his (highschool) friends mark and dirk-jan, was picked up by john acquaviva for release on the short lived plus 8 subsidiary called malego back in 1992. the ep features five warm and atmospheric house tracks recorded at a dark attic room somewhere in the west of holland in 1991. these days afterglow is quite a sought after record that rarely turns up cheap on discogs. we are proud to be able to offer you limited copies of this re-mastered package.

ewan jansen joins the butter sessions crew with five unique tracks spanning deep house cuts to electronic jazz, recorded in perth, australia between 2002 and 2016. on the a side, ewan offers up two memorable and moody gems credo and harbinger that are just as effective on the dance floor as they are in your lounge room! the b side sees something more obscure brewing, kicked off by blueprint a balearic compu-funked tune that makes you wish it lasted for hours, followed up by the timeless piece of jazz infused ambience on the beach . the tail end of the ep leaves us with erewhon an oddball jazz tinged house jam of incomparable qualities!

utter presents rgbpm, trevor jackson s four piece audio-visual work originally commissioned for a live performance at the optronica festival in 2007, on london s imax, the biggest screen in the uk. optronica, programmed by addictive tv/cinefeel in collaboration with the british film institute, held its second festival over five consecutive days at the imax, ica and bfi southbank in march 2007. a showcase of the most exciting talent working in visual music, optronica s 2007 event was a platform for live performances, talks, screenings and workshops from the likes of fennesz, peter greenaway and ryoichi kurokawa. jackson s piece took over six months to develop and yet was performed only once. on march 14th the premier of rgbpm opened the festival in spectacular fashion, jackson performing the music live with its accompanying hd visuals generated in real time using custom-built software created especially by weirdcore. a powerful multi-sensory experience, the event remains one of the defining moments of jackson s lengthy career. the visuals consist of abstract shapes synchronised perfectly to jackson�s soundtrack. choreographed to represent musical elements within each track, they explore the relationship between melody, colour, rhythm and form. the diverse soundtrack combines magical motorik experiments, demented acidic jams, melodic subterranean techno and dark discordant electronic soundscapes. it s a timeless selection of music that holds its own to this day. a decade on from rgbpm s lone airing, utter is proud to release all four parts together for the first time as a special 12- package, mastered and cut by helmut erler at d&m and housed in a sleeve designed by jackson himself.

all source material recorded in gran paradiso, july 2015 engineered at odd phasing and echoes, amsterdam nl photography bjnilsen bjnilsen is a composer and sound artist based in amsterdam. his work primarily focuses on the sounds of nature and how they affect humans. recent work has explored the urban acoustic realm and industrial geography in the arctic region of norway and russia. his original scores and soundtracks have featured in theatre, dance performances and film. celebrating 27 years as a recording artist massif trophies is the first solo release for editions mego. in 2015 he set off on a month long hiking trip in gran paradiso to explore the acoustic environments in the alpine landscape. drawn to the monotonous and physical effort that mountains and high altitudes contributes, this became one of the main inspirations for the album, reflecting upon the perception of the landscape during several hours of physical difficulty, let alone rapid weather changes, horizontal thunderstorms and rock avalanches. it is also about the scope of details and perception of the path and the myth of the mountain as the accursed or sacred place. the five pieces contains narratives based on experiences and recordings from the trip.

mytron & ofofo make multi culti great again with a full, fun, five-track ep. little is known about this freaky duo whose sound straddles opposing polarities, merging organics and synthetics, joining traditional textures with futuristic finish. these are sample-licious tracks that also feature original vocals and raw analog synths. they are noisy but clean, rough but smooth, soft and crunchy. on one hand, it s mad-cap multicultural disco funk as on si jambo (translated loosely as all good ) and 2tac onana, and on the other it s cybernetic weirdness and italo-inflected electro with non-binary joys on the venus holodeck and czary mary, which sounds like it could be the flip-side to sharivari. in between this binary divide is something for the mind, a brilliant piece of pop music that springs lightly into your brain with catchy bleeps, incredible vocoder, and a beat guaranteed to get the braindance party started.

2017 reissue , love what you feel returns with a new release by chicago native and half of africans with mainframes (mathematics recordings/creme organization), noleian reusse! the tracks on this record mostly eschew an easy four-on-the-floor rhythm in favor of raw, jacking beats. using an all-hardware set-up, noleian banged out all new tunes especially for this five track ep. the machine funk runs wild from the jumpoff, sometimes exotic, sometimes abstract, and sometimes banging, but never typical. the cuts on this record are versatile enough to fit into both techno and house sets, and there is even a dubstep-esque track that will have crossover appeal!

�spes aeterna� compiles seven sonic representations of the video art by diane drubay. five musicians coming from australia, united states and sweden collaborated with the french video artist to create a deep ambient and experimental drone compilation: zanias, halv drøm, kim boekbinder, dan söderqvist and bixu. the compilation is a right blend of psychoactives colors with textural, emotional and rhythmic soundscapes to expand the idea of sublime and create a strong natural cognitive enhancer. the compilation should be listened facing the video pieces to dive into an introspective state and reach high consciousness. this is the first installation of a trilogy.

karl meier, ken meier and jon krohn, aka stave, are launching a label called standards & practices.
the three us artists, who share chicago roots, have a pretty straightforward mission in mind for standards & practices: �to provide a platform for releases by both talker and stave, as well as for material by other like-minded artists and collaborators.� talker is the downwards-affiliated duo of karl meier�a longtime techno dj, now based in berlin, who took part in ra�s playing favourites series last year�and krohn, formerly of the experimental rock group male, who�s also been putting out his own brand of abstract, industrialized electronic music as stave for around four years. ken meier, a new york-based graphic designer, partner at common name and dj�and karl�s brother�takes care of art and design for the label.
standards & practices� opening move is a talker 12-inch, battle standards, the duo�s third full release and first since their 2014 album for downwards. a three-track ep built with material from their new live set and �aimed squarely at the dance floor,� it includes a new version of �my favorite colour is gold,� from 2015�s the immortal eye compilation cd. it�s due out in late july. next will be black hills, a five-track ep from stave that�s expected in september.
